Under the supervision of the Tanmia Charitable Association in the State of Kuwait and funded by the heirs of Abd al-Rahman Muhammad al-Judaimi, may God Almighty have mercy on him, the Yemeni International Development Agency opened the Abd al-Rahman al-Judaimi School, may God have mercy on him, for displaced students in the Sama Ma’rib neighborhood – Al-Mail area, Ma’rib Governorate, and under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Education and Director of the Education Office in the governorate.
During the opening ceremony, the education official of the executive unit for the displaced in Marib, Ali Mutair, indicated that the school will work to return hundreds of displaced male and female students who dropped out of school due to the lack of a school in the neighborhood.
Ms. Beirut Al-Maflahi, coordinator of the OCHA Education Cluster, also praised the Agency’s role in implementing this project, which is a success story by all standards in light of the current conditions.
It is worth mentioning that the school consists of 4 classrooms, an administration room, and two toilets. The school targets up to (400) male and female students in two shifts, morning and evening.
The opening was attended by Ms. Beirut Al-Maflahi, Coordinator of the Education Cluster in Marib and Al-Jawf Governorates, Mr. Ali Mutair, Education Officer at the Executive Unit for the Displaced in Marib, Dr. Jamal Qahtan, Director of Programs and Projects at the Agency, and a large gathering of families, parents of students and dignitaries of the region.
This project comes within the activities and projects of the Yemeni International Agency for Development and its interventions in the field of education at the level of Yemen, which aims to support access to education for all displaced persons and those affected by the war.
