In a remarkable humanitarian and social event, the Yemen International Agency for Development (YIAD) sponsored the first mass wedding of the “Righteousness and Chastity” initiative held in Türkiye. The event brought together 32 brides and grooms from Yemen, Palestine, and Syria, with a large and diverse attendance that included families, social figures, representatives of civil society organizations, as well as humanitarian actors.
The celebration reflected the values of solidarity and unity among peoples, as the couples’ families were joined by guests from different Arab countries and Türkiye, creating a joyful and inclusive atmosphere.
YIAD co-sponsored the initiative alongside the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, Al-Khair Way Foundation, and the Orphan Foundation. This partnership reaffirms YIAD’s continuous commitment to supporting humanitarian and developmental initiatives that strengthen social stability and help young people start a happy married life.
YIAD emphasized that supporting such initiatives aligns with its mission of building human capacity and assisting the most vulnerable groups. The agency highlighted that the “Righteousness and Chastity” initiative is an inspiring model of cooperative work between humanitarian organizations, reinforcing the values of solidarity and enhancing the family’s role as a cornerstone of sustainable development.
Participants expressed their great happiness with this unique initiative, noting that the mass wedding not only reduced the financial burdens of marriage but also embodied the spirit of hope and togetherness, opening new horizons for couples to begin a joyful married life.
This step reaffirms YIAD’s commitment to building strategic relations with various institutions and expanding the scope of cooperation to achieve common goals that serve the community and its development.
