An international organization that works across Yemen and with Yemeni communities and expatriates to coordinate and integrate efforts for Yemen’s development and man-made, overseeing the implementation of development projects and programs, in collaboration with a network of donors, international and regional organizations and local institutions, in accordance with the needs and commitments of donors and development partners.


Yemen is going through exceptionally tough times that impacted all aspects of Yemenis’ lives, resulting in one of the biggest humanitarian crises in modern history, coinciding with that, there has been a major collapse of the country’s key sectors. These conditions rendered the efforts made to counter such a humanitarian crisis unable to cover the needs of Yemenis. In the light of this, Yemen International Agency for Development comes to be an added value to the accumulated efforts and experiences of the humanitarian sector in Yemen. The Agency’s efforts focus on creating an environment in which different parties can achieve their goals in different development sectors.

Yemen International Agency for Development (YIAD) stands ready to help – near and far, across the 333 districts of Yemen as the most reliable intermediary institution. Its vision and mission are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all people in Yemen. Hence, YIAD is striving to participate effectively in fulfilling 6 goals out of 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Such goals are; No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health & Well-Being, Quality Education, Decent Work & Economic Growth, and Partnerships. Although YIAD is newly established, we are inspired, and we remain committed to doing our part to create a Yemen where all people live in prosperity.

Our Program Strategies

1 . YIDA places resilience and development at the hearts of its interventions approach.
2. YIAD implements programs in accordance with the common approach program cycle
3. YIDA’s inspiration aims at implementing an integrated approach using effective models and approaches such as immediate response, recovery, mitigation and preparedness while linking relief, rehabilitation and development.
4. We firmly believe that building resilience and sustainable development of affected populations is effective, cost efficient and sustainable. In addition, better development can reduce the need for emergency relief; better relief can contribute to development; and better rehabilitation can ease the transition between the two.
5. YIAD always conducts need assessment before implementing any programs or project in order to determining and addressing needs, or “gaps” between current conditions and desired conditions.
6. YIAD takes into consideration the importance of collecting data & information, and conducting reliable studies on issues related to development. The results of these studies and data base are available to any funding agencies and/or individuals who are interested in such studies.
7. YIAD prepares short proposals for projects and programs that are urgently needed. The proposals is extended upon a request from donor(s).
