Its vision and mission align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all people in Yemen. YIAD is dedicated to achieving 6 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, which include: Partnership for the Goals – Quality Education – Decent Work and Economic Growth – Good Health and Well-being – Zero Hunger – No Poverty.

An international organization that works to coordinate and integrate efforts for the development of Yemen and the empowerment of its people. It collaborates with donors, international and regional organizations, and a network of local institutions to oversee the implementation of development projects and programs throughout Yemen, as well as for Yemeni communities and expatriates around the world. This is done in accordance with the requirements and commitments of donors and development partners.

PROGRAM STRATEGY

1. YIAD implements its programs and designs its interventions in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Group’s Common Approach Memorandum.
2. YIAD conducts a needs assessment before implementing any program or project to identify needs, gaps, and desired outcomes.
3. YIAD aims to implement an integrated approach using effective models and methods such as immediate response, gradual recovery, rehabilitation, and development.
4. YIAD collects data and information and conducts reliable studies on development issues. The results of these studies and the database are available to any funding agencies or individuals interested in such studies.
5. YIAD prepares studies for urgently needed projects and programs based on donor requests.

YIAD is committed to fulfilling its mission by improving the quality of services in the fields of education, health, and economic empowerment, through the following objectives:

    • Enhancing opportunities for general, vocational and higher education.
    • Improving health care programs and services.
    • Developing social development and empowerment programs for the most vulnerable groups.
    • Developing rehabilitation and capacity building programs for all segments of society.
    • Expanding the network of international cooperation, funding projects and programs.
    • Developing public relations and international communication programs through Yemeni communities abroad.
