Inauguration of Al-Khadr Primary School in Marib to Enhance Rural Education

Jibul area of Marib Governorate, with generous funding from the Kuwait-based Rahma International Association. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Bakri, Deputy Director of the Office of Education and Teaching in Marib, along with several officials and educational figures.

Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Selami, Executive Director of the Yemen International Agency for Development, stated that the school accommodates 400 students and includes five classrooms, an administrative office, and two restrooms. It has been fully equipped with essential educational materials to provide a comprehensive learning environment for students in the region.

He emphasized that this project is part of the agency’s efforts to support the education sector by enhancing learning opportunities for students in rural areas, improving education quality, and contributing to sustainable development in the governorate.

The school’s inauguration was met with widespread appreciation from local residents, who praised the active role of the Yemen International Agency for Development and expressed their gratitude for the valuable contributions of Rahma International Association in strengthening the educational process in Yemen.

As part of its efforts to support the healthcare sector and enhance medical services, Dr. Abdullah Al-Jouri, Director of Alliances and Partnerships at the Yemen International Agency for Development, met with Dr. Ahmed Al-Abbadi, Director of the Health Office in Marib, to discuss the plan for establishing the Noura Al-Obaid Health Center for Maternity and Prenatal Care. Yemen International Agency for Development Launches Heating Distribution Project for Orphan in Marib

As part of its humanitarian and developmental efforts, the Yemen International Agency for Development, in partnership with Sila Foundation for Development, has launched a new project aimed at distributing heating devices to orphan homes in Marib city. This project comes at a critical time, as many orphan families are struggling to cope with the harsh winter cold, which intensifies their suffering.

The project targets providing heaters for more than 700 orphaned individuals and their families, ensuring a warm and safe living environment, thus helping improve the daily living conditions of orphaned children during the harsh winter months. The project reflects the agency’s commitment to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable groups in society.

The project launch event was attended by several prominent figures, including Dr. Khaled Al-Shajani, Deputy Director of the Executive Unit in the governorate, Mr. Bashamkha, representative of Sila Foundation, Dr. Abdul-Salam Al-Salami, Executive Director of Yemen International Agency for Development, and Dr. Jamal Qahtan, Deputy Director of the Agency and Director of Projects and Programs.

Inauguration of Al-Firdaws Primary School for Girls in Marib

In an important step towards supporting the education sector in Marib Governorate, Dr. Abdurabbu Muftah, the Deputy Governor of Marib, inaugurated Al-Firdaws Primary School for Girls in the Al-Hadd area of the Wadi District. The school was funded by the Al-Firdaws Charity Organization – France, and implemented by the Yemen International Agency for Development.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Salami, the Executive Director of the Yemen International Agency for Development, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Bakiri, Deputy Director of the Education Office in Marib Governorate, Abdullah Shaddad, General Manager of Education and Training Projects in the governorate, Dr. Fadl Qahtan, School Feeding Program Coordinator at the Ministry of Education, and Ismail Al-Saidi, representative of the Executive Unit of the Education Sector in the governorate.

During the inauguration, Dr. Abdurabbu Muftah emphasized the importance of education in facing the developmental challenges Yemen is experiencing, stating, “Today, the battle is a battle of knowledge and development.”

On his part, Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Salami, Executive Director of the Yemen International Agency for Development, highlighted the agency’s significant contributions to the education sector in the governorate, noting that this school is the sixteenth school opened by the agency in Marib. He also pointed out that these achievements would not have been possible without the grace of God and the efforts of those who continue to support this important sector.

Al-Firdaws School consists of five classrooms, an administrative office, a storage room, and two bathrooms, serving approximately 400 students in primary education. This project is part of the agency’s ongoing interventions to support the education sector in crisis-affected areas.

The project enhances the agency’s efforts in providing a suitable educational environment for girls in Marib Governorate and contributes to sustainable development by improving educational levels and expanding educational opportunities for girls in various areas of the governorate.

Completion of a Computer Driving License Workshop as Part of the Gifted Student Sponsorship Project in Yemen

A workshop on the Computer Driving License was held as part of the “Gifted Student Sponsorship” project, overseen by the Yemen International Agency for Development across four Yemeni governorates. This training brought together 80 students from different educational levels, aiming to develop their technical skills and provide them with fundamental knowledge in computer usage, enriching their academic knowledge and skills.

This workshop is part of the scheduled activities within the “Gifted Student Sponsorship” project, which strives to empower youth and equip them with essential digital tools for today’s technological demands. During the workshop, students received training in basic computer skills, including word processing, data analysis, presentation applications, and information security, preparing them for the job market and academic research.

The project is part of YIAD’s ongoing efforts to support the educational sector in Yemen and enhance students’ academic and technical capabilities through partnerships with local and international donors.
