A delegation from the Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) visited the headquarters of the Yemen International Agency for Development in Yemen. The delegation included Program Manager Mr. Klints, Operations Manager Mr. Abdel Qader, Engineer Amr, and Human Resources Manager. They were received by the Deputy Director of the Agency, Dr. Jamal Qahtan, along with department managers.

During the visit, the delegation toured the agency’s departments and met its staff. They were briefed on the various projects the agency has implemented in Yemen over the past period. Discussions focused on potential future partnerships between the two organizations. The delegation expressed their admiration for the agency’s diverse projects and readiness to implement joint programs.

The Gifted Talents Center, part of the Yemen International Agency for Development, has concluded its Community Leadership Empowerment Program, which lasted for three days. The program aimed to enhance the leadership skills of participants and develop their core competencies for effective community involvement.

The program began with a training session on effective communication skills led by Trainer Yasser Al-Sayed Omar. On the second day, Strategic Expert Engineer Shahab Al-Ariqi conducted a workshop titled “Essential Management Skills.” Al-Ariqi continued on the third day with a course on “Modern Management Skills.”

The program saw participation from student union leaders, reading club presidents, and youth initiative heads.

Yemen International Agency for Development has joined the United Nations and humanitarian organizations in responding to the urgent appeal to provide assistance to 18.2 million people in Yemen, who are facing worsening humanitarian conditions after nine years of conflict. The agency remains committed to alleviating the suffering of Yemenis by continuing to implement a range of sustainable humanitarian projects that contribute to improving the living conditions of the Yemeni community.

Funded by the International Islamic Charitable Organization, implemented by the Ata’a Relief and Development Association, and supervised by Dr. Jassem Al-Mutawa, the Yemen International Agency for Development participated in the training program “Steps Towards Excellence.” Represented by the Executive Director of the Center for Talents Training and Initiatives, Mr. Saleh Hizam, and the Financial Accountant, Mr. Ali Al-Faqih, the program was held in Istanbul from April 20 to May 3, 2024.

Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Salami, Executive Director of the Yemen Office of the Yemen International Development Agency, met with Dr. Abdulhamid bin Yusuf Al-Mazroui, Assistant Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, at the Assembly’s headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Salami reviewed the agency’s diverse projects carried out over the past years. Dr. Al-Mazroui expressed the Assembly’s readiness to collaborate with the agency on future projects aimed at alleviating the suffering of those in need in Yemen.

The Yemen International Development Agency, represented by Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Salami, Executive Director of the Yemen Office, and Mr. Zakaria Shaalan, Executive Director of the Turkey Office, participated in the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group, held in Riyadh from April 27 to April 30, 2024. During the meetings, the Islamic Development Bank Group hosted a series of events featuring high-level experts from governments, international and regional organizations, the private sector, academia, and civil society.

As part of its ongoing efforts to empower and support promising talents, the First Cohort of the Talented Youth Program in Turkey organized two seminars titled “Science and Confronting Destructive Ideas” and “Team Management.” The seminars featured engaging discussions and interactive sessions aimed at guiding students towards a deeper understanding of these crucial issues and developing their skills in collaboration and leadership. These seminars are part of the program’s initiatives to enhance the capabilities of talented students and enable them to succeed in their higher education pursuits.

The Yemen International Development Agency continues its efforts by implementing a number of emergency intervention projects in Yemen during the holy month of Ramadan. These projects include providing support and relief to needy families, supplying essential food items, medical aid, and other basic services. These initiatives aim to alleviate the suffering of local communities and enhance their stability.

As part of its ongoing efforts to empower and support promising talents, the Second Cohort of the Talented Youth Program in Yemen has organized a course titled “Self and Time Management.” This course is a key initiative within the program aimed at developing the skills of talented students and enabling them to continue their higher education successfully.

This morning, Sunday, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Yemen International Agency for Development to open bids for the Oweis Al-Qarni School project.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the agency, the committee formed to select the best proposal, and representatives of 13 companies and contracting offices that submitted bids for the project.

The meeting was opened with a speech by Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Salami, the director of the agency, who welcomed the attendees and explained the importance and objectives of the project. During the meeting, the bids for the project were opened, and the evaluation process was initiated by the relevant committee, according to the criteria and conditions specified in the project documents.

It is expected that the winning company for the project will be announced in the coming days. It is worth mentioning that the Oweis Al-Qarni School project is one of the educational projects to be implemented by the Yemen International Agency for Development in Marib Governorate, aiming to provide a suitable educational environment for students in the region.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Jamal Qahtan, the director of programs and projects at the agency.
