The Yemen International Agency for Development held a specialized workshop on mental health, with the participation of a group of officials and experts in the health field. Among the participants were Dr. Bashir Al-Fadhli, Director of Organizations at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mohammed Bin Hisiya, Director of the National Mental Health Program, Dr. Zaynab Al-Nahdi, Acting Head of the Program, along with a number of specialists in this field.

The workshop discussions centered on the challenges facing the mental health sector and ways to develop national strategies to improve mental health services in Yemen. There was also a focus on enhancing collaboration between official bodies and international organizations to achieve the desired goals.

The workshop included presentations on the national mental health strategy by Dr. Zaynab Al-Nahdi, and the state of mental health in the Marib governorate by Dr. Mahyoub Ahmed Al-Mukhlafi. Participants emphasized the importance of supporting national programs and developing strategic plans that meet the needs of the local community, enhancing the effectiveness of mental health services.

As part of efforts to strengthen humanitarian and development partnerships, Dr. Abdelraqib Abbad, President of the Yemen International Agency for Development, received a delegation from Al-Rahma International Charity at the agency’s headquarters in Turkey. The delegation included Dr. Jamal Al-Razi, Director of Al-Rahma International Charity’s office in Turkey, and Engineer Firas Basmahji, Director of the Projects Department at Al-Rahma Global Foundation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of mutual cooperation in implementing humanitarian and development projects aimed at supporting the most vulnerable groups. The discussions also focused on expanding strategic partnerships to enhance work in the education, health, and economic empowerment sectors, contributing to sustainable development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening relations and continuing joint work to achieve humanitarian goals that serve and support local communities.
