The Yemeni International Development Agency, in its Yemen office, honors the Deputy Minister of Education

“As part of efforts to enhance partnerships with government institutions, Dr. Ali bin Ali Al-Abab, Deputy Minister of Education, met with a team from the Yemeni International Development Agency, represented by Dr. Abdullah Al-Jouri, Director of Alliances and Partnerships Management, in his office.

During the meeting, the agency’s efforts in the educational sector were reviewed, aiming to facilitate quality education opportunities for students at all levels, especially for displaced populations and residents of remote areas. The education needs in the country and the priority interventions in this field were also discussed.

In the meeting, the agency’s team honored the Deputy Minister of Education with a certificate of appreciation, expressing gratitude for his support and facilitation of the agency’s work in the educational sector, as well as his commitment to its success.

The Deputy Minister of Education welcomed the agency and praised its efforts in the educational field, urging everyone to intensify efforts to serve the Yemeni community and assist the state in achieving development goals.”

The Yemeni Agency in the Yemen Office visits Oxfam- Marib organization

“As part of a series of purposeful meetings aimed at expanding partnerships with international organizations operating in Yemen and seeking to establish strong relationships, a visit was made to Oxfam-Marib. The visiting team from the agency was led by the Executive Director, Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Salami, along with Dr. Jamal Qahtan, Project Manager, Dr. Abdullah Al-Jouri, Partnerships and Alliances Management Director, and Mr. Adel Saif, International Partnerships Officer.

The visit aimed to enhance collaboration with Oxfam, introducing the agency’s projects in Marib and beyond, with the goal of establishing an effective partnership between the two organizations. The Executive Director of the agency also presented the agency’s efforts and its humanitarian and developmental activities, and both parties discussed potential areas of future cooperation between the two organizations.”

The Yemeni International Agency organized a training workshop on ‘Financial Sustainability for Civil Society Organizations


“The Yemeni International Development Agency organized a training workshop titled ‘Financial Sustainability for Civil Society Organizations.’ The workshop featured guest speakers Dr. Hani Al-Banna, founder of Islamic Relief and president of the Global Humanitarian Forum, Mr. Tarek Afifi, director of Humanitarian Relief in Germany, and Dr. Sayed Al-Zanari, representative of the International Academy for Development in the Middle East and North Africa.

The workshop covered various topics and discussions on key aspects of financial sustainability for civil society organizations. Representatives from participating institutions and associations also actively contributed to discussions on financial sustainability.”

It was attended by several prominent figures in charity and humanitarian work worldwide, with the participation of many heads and representatives of associations and institutions interested in humanitarian work.”

Visit of a Delegation from the Yemeni International Development Agency to Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University


“Acting on the partnership between the Yemeni International Development Agency and major educational institutions in Istanbul, and to enhance the strategic goals of the agency in the education sector, a delegation from the agency led by its General Manager, Mr. Waeam Al-Din Ibrahim, visited Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. During the visit, the delegation met with Professor Sami Al-Aryan, the Director of the Center for Islamic Studies and International Affairs and a professor of public affairs.

Several topics were discussed during this visit, with a focus on the agency’s project to support gifted and creative students. The discussions also covered how students can benefit from various research systems during their postgraduate studies and the importance of enhancing their language skills, especially in Western languages. Additionally, the registration process for talented students at the university for master’s studies was discussed. Professor Al-Aryan explained the university’s system and addressed questions from talented students about their educational future.”

Deputy Minister of Education Visits the Yemeni International Development Agency in Turkey

“As part of efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of education and strengthen international partnerships, the Deputy Minister of Education made an official visit to the Yemeni International Development Agency in Turkey.

During this visit, the Deputy Minister of Education met with the agency’s team to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of education and development. Emphasis was placed on exploring opportunities for collaboration in curriculum development and vocational training.

The Deputy Minister expressed appreciation for the leading role played by the Yemeni International Development Agency in promoting education and supporting development in Yemen. He highlighted the importance of building strong international partnerships to ensure the achievement of sustainable development goals in the education sector.

On their part, the agency representatives expressed their readiness to enhance cooperation with the Yemeni Ministry of Education, affirming their commitment to providing the necessary technical and technical support to enhance the quality of education and develop educational infrastructure in Yemen.

This visit is part of ongoing international cooperation to make progress in the field of education and develop the education sector to ensure the provision of distinguished and comprehensive educational opportunities for youth in Yemen.”

The Athar Volunteer Team launches a project to build mobile classrooms (caravans) for children in the Rukban Camp

“The Athar Volunteer Team at the Yemeni International Development Agency has launched the ‘My School with Me’ project. The project involves the construction of 8 caravans in the city of Marib, specifically in the Al-Rakiza camp. These caravans include classrooms where fundamental subjects are taught for primary school students from grade one to grade four. The project aims to enhance the resilience of individuals and systems to protect children, families, and communities, empowering them to face future challenges using their resources and capacities.”

The First Summit on Education in Emergency Situations

“Under the esteemed patronage of the Minister of Education in Yemen, Dr. Tarek Salem Al-Akbari, the Yemeni International Development Agency, in partnership with the Human Access Association for Partnership and Development, held the First Summit on Education in Yemen in Emergency Situations on Thursday, April 8, 2021. The summit took place on the Zoom virtual platform in collaboration with the Human Excellence Association in Kuwait, the Classera International Company, and the Pure Hands Association in America. The event was attended and participated in by 125 local, regional, and international organizations and institutions.

The summit, held under the theme ‘Yemeni Education: Pain and Hope,’ was driven by a sense of social responsibility towards the wounded land and people of Yemen. It aimed to explore the current state of Yemeni education, assess the damages caused by the war, and understand their impact on the present and future of Yemen. The objectives of the summit included reviewing the current state of Yemeni education, identifying the damages resulting from the war, exchanging experiences among participants from local and international organizations in supporting education projects during emergencies, and defining and preparing an urgent and critical project matrix for the short and medium term, ranging from one to three years.

The participants produced several outcomes and recommendations, including:

  1. Urgency in implementing the proposed project packages from organizing entities.
  2. Recommending an increase in allocations for educational projects within the commitments of donors in the framework of the humanitarian response plan.
  3. Distancing education from political polarization within the framework of unifying educational decisions nationwide.
  4. Addressing the psychological and health effects on students and teachers resulting from the war and increasing spending to support this aspect.
  5. Emphasizing the importance of e-learning and benefiting from successful experiences.
  6. The necessity of productive cooperation and integration between the official side, represented by the Ministry of Education, and civil society institutions.

In conclusion, the Yemeni International Development Agency and the Human Access Association praised the role of contractors who have contributed to the educational process in Yemen.”
