Yemen International Agency for Development – Yemen opens bids for the Oweis Al-Qarni School project

This morning, Sunday, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Yemen International Agency for Development to open bids for the Oweis Al-Qarni School project.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the agency, the committee formed to select the best proposal, and representatives of 13 companies and contracting offices that submitted bids for the project.

The meeting was opened with a speech by Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Salami, the director of the agency, who welcomed the attendees and explained the importance and objectives of the project. During the meeting, the bids for the project were opened, and the evaluation process was initiated by the relevant committee, according to the criteria and conditions specified in the project documents.

It is expected that the winning company for the project will be announced in the coming days. It is worth mentioning that the Oweis Al-Qarni School project is one of the educational projects to be implemented by the Yemen International Agency for Development in Marib Governorate, aiming to provide a suitable educational environment for students in the region.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Jamal Qahtan, the director of programs and projects at the agency.

Opening of Pearl of the Sea School

Under the supervision of the World Islamic Charitable Organization in Kuwait and with generous funding from the heirs of the Luluat Ahmed Albahar , the Yemen International Agency for Development inaugurated the Pearl of the Sea School in the governorate of Abyan.

Yemen International Agency for Development – Yemen concluded a program for building the capacities of local organizations, in which 25 organizations participated over three consecutive days. The program focused on developing the skills of executive and financial managers within these organizations, with an emphasis on humanitarian negotiation and risk management. Speakers underscored the importance of these initiatives in enhancing partnerships and improving the effectiveness of humanitarian organizations in the governorate. This program is part of YIAD’s interventions aimed at strengthening partnerships and providing training for local partners.

With funding from the International Islamic Charitable Organization, the Yemeni International Development Agency opens the Samia Girls’ School in Al-Jufayna (School of Wadhah Ahmed Al-Bahr, may she rest in peace)

The Yemen International Development Agency, in collaboration with the International Islamic Charitable Organization, inaugurated the Samia Girls’ School in the Al-Jufayna area of Marib Province. This initiative is part of their efforts to support the educational process and alleviate the suffering of displaced persons in the province.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Bakri, Deputy Director of Education in Marib, Mr. Abdullah Shaddad, Project Director at the Education Office, Mr. Mohammad Marsh, Director of Education in the City Directorate, and Mr. Ali Matir, Head of the Education Sector at the Executive Unit.

Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Bakri considered this project to be a valuable addition to the educational process for girls, especially given the overcrowding in government schools due to the increased number of displaced individuals in the region. He expressed his gratitude to the International Islamic Charitable Organization and the Yemen International Development Agency for their contributions to such projects that enhance the quality and level of education.

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Jamal Qahtan, Deputy Executive Director of the Agency in Yemen, emphasized the Agency’s commitment to implementing projects that contribute to significant improvements in the education sector and its services.

It’s worth noting that the school consists of five classrooms, an administrative office, two restrooms, and is fully furnished. It can accommodate up to 400 students in two shifts.

This project is part of the Yemen International Development Agency’s educational interventions for the year 2023, where the Agency has implemented several schools in various Yemeni provinces.

The Yemeni International Development Agency, the Yemen office, and the Communication Foundation for Human Development signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction project of Al-Aqili School, funded by the Al-Aqili family endowment and supervised by Al-Rahma International Society in the State of Kuwait. The Yemeni ambassador to Turkey visits the Yemeni International Development Agency

The President of the Yemeni International Development Agency, Dr. Abdul-Raqeeb Abbad, received His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen, Major General Muhammad Salih Tariq, at the Agency’s headquarters in Istanbul. The ambassador praised the great and proactive efforts exerted by the agency through various development projects.
The two sides also discussed the importance of strengthening coordination between Yemeni institutions and organizations, and working to unify efforts to support those affected by the earthquake that struck southern Turkey.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Weam Al-Din Al-Hudaini, Director General of the Agency, and Mr. Talal Jamil, the media attache of the Yemeni Embassy in Ankara.
